Stewardship Program Influences Social & Environmental Responsibilities
Wheeling, WV (November 15, 2018) – Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack celebrates America Recycles Day with the successes of their stewardship platform, Green Path, which influences the management of their environmental impact and contribution to the local community.
The Green Path platform is thriving at Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack. In the past year the company has recycled more than 43,230 pounds of paper, 39,494 pounds of cooking oil, 68,252 pounds of metals and 92,570 pounds of cardboard.
Green Path, is the proprietary stewardship platform of Delaware North. The program has won multiple awards from various organizations including NASA, the National Park Service, the U.S Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S Travel Association for it’s strides in community impact & environmental sustainability.
Carrie Scanlon, Regional Senior Director of Marketing, is thrilled to see the program performing well and proud to be a part of an organization with a focus on the community and environment “It’s wonderful to have a program that stresses the importance of recycling goods that would otherwise go to a landfill.” Scanlon said, “In almost a year, we’ve been able to recycle more than 243,000 pounds of materials.”
