Table Games charity events proceeds will benefit local charity groups
WHEELING, W.Va (December 17, 2007) — Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack will host two table games charity events on Monday, December 17 and Tuesday, December 18, 2007 from 4pm-8pm in their newly renovated gaming floor.
All proceeds will benefit The WISH Foundation, Family Services-Upper Ohio Valley, Wheeling Health Right, YWCA and The United Way-Upper Ohio Valley.
Bob Marshall, President and General Manager of Wheeling Island said the charity events will serve two purposes; first, to give our local charities an opportunity to raise money for their organizations and second, to provide additional hands-on training for dealers and simulate the table games operations as it pertains to the approved lottery regulations prior to our official grand opening.
“It is really exciting to see our 63 new table games in action,” said Marshall. “The next two days will be a soft opening to fine-tune operational details as we prepare to open our blackjack, craps, roulette and specialty table games. If all goes well and we receive Lottery approval, we will be ready to open on December 20,” said Marshall.
Guests who pay a $25 charitable donation at the registration table will receive $250 in play chips, complimentary refreshments and an entry for daily door prize drawings.
