Position: Vice President of Finance, Patina Restaurant Group | Interim Vice President, Treasurer, Delaware North

Tom Barney serves as vice president of finance for Delaware North’s Patina Restaurant Group. He also continues to serve on an interim basis in his most recent position of vice president, treasurer, for Delaware North and will assist in transitioning the role when a successor is identified.
Barney oversees all of Patina Restaurant Group’s financial operations, ensures compliance with all corporate policies and generally accepted accounting principles, and safeguards company assets. He serves as a key Patina Restaurant Group executive in the implementation of strategic plans to drive short- and long-term growth, including the evaluation of new business opportunities and integration of new businesses into the subsidiary portfolio and revenue initiatives. Among the major projects Barney helps oversee are Patina restaurants being developed as part of Delaware North’s The Hub on Causeway in Boston and new concepts for Disney in Orlando.
Barney has had a 25-year career with Delaware North, during which he has been recognized with several promotions. He began as an associate financial analyst and has held financial positions with Delaware North corporate, Sportservice and other subsidiaries.
From 2009 to 2017, Barney served as vice president of finance for the company’s parks and resorts business, overseeing all financial aspects. He was instrumental in negotiating new contract terms and a contract extension with NASA for Delaware North’s operation of Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex; the financial analyses for four new National Park Service contracts and the acquisition of several hotels. Barney also oversaw the finances for Delaware North’s diverse Australian portfolio of lodging properties and sports, airport and cultural venue hospitality operations. And he has served as director of strategic planning for Delaware North.
Barney, who earned an MBA at the University at Buffalo, serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council, which is made up of a group of exceptional alumni and leaders who assist the dean and the School of Management. He also serves on the University at Buffalo’s Alumni Association Board of Directors.
